Back-to-school can be an exciting time for many parents, caregivers, and their children and for some parents/caregivers and their children, it can be an anxiety-producing time. With the start of the new school year, it is SO important that we talk about what your child needs to succeed. We know that success looks different for EVERY child. One major way we set children up for success during the school year is to think critically about the many ways that we can support their Mental health, and that's what this series is about.
This episode is SO FULL of amazing information from Dr. Jessica Meister, who is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist. This episode is for every parent, caregiver, educator, or everyone who loves and cares about a child!
On this episode, we talked about the different parts of learning and Dr. Meister really broke down the domains that parents and caregivers should be taking into consideration when they think about their child’s overall functioning in the school setting. In addition, we talk about the purpose of a clinical diagnosis and setting developmentally appropriate expectations for your child. We touch on how difficult it can be for parents to manage their expectations for their children, the role of your child's self-esteem, and soooo much more!!!!
I can’t explain just how many gems are dropped in this episode! Listen today!
